The task of Business Continuity is to guarantee the operational continuity of services even in the event of hardware or software malfunctions. The task of a Disaster Recovery solution is to identify well-defined thresholds ( RPO – Recovery Point Objective, RTO – Recovery Time Objective) within which to guarantee total or partial business recovery, based on defined needs. In order to design a Disaster Recovery infrastructure that meets the Client’s expectations, a prior Business Impact analysis activity is required, which identifies critical processes and functions by evaluating the consequences of data loss and establishing acceptable recovery times. As the last piece of the “Disaster Recovery” puzzle, the DRP (Disaster Recovery Plan) defines the methods and functional details to allow the resumption of activities in the times and in the ways analyzed and shared.
